Our Procedure

Our Home Removals service will generally follow this procedure……

One of the Steele & Co Moving Services partners will visit your home, by appointment, to discuss your removal needs. Should you wish to use our services, this partner will then see the project through to its successful conclusion, working proactively, and keeping in regular contact with both you and the staff engaged on your move.

At the initial appointment, we will provide professional and practical advice on the preparation for and scheduling of your move, without any obligation.

We can assess your specific removal needs quickly and accurately and will provide you with a detailed quotation where applicable.

This quotation will be supported by a suggested removal plan, outlining how the move will be undertaken, whilst at the same time detailing any special packing or removal requirements. As part of our professional packing service we provide all materials and equipment.

Whether you are moving a long distance or remaining in the locality, we can offer a tailored range of packing services, including:-

• A complete packing service – for clients who prefer not to pack for themselves, owing to pressure of time or other commitments;
• Packing of fragile items only – for clients who prefer to pack the majority of items for themselves;
• Providing packaging material – for clients who prefer to pack entirely for themselves;
• We can provide comprehensive insurance to cover your effects whilst in transit.

Each item of furniture is individually wrapped in specially designed transit blankets to provide maximum protection. Glassware, china and delicate ornaments are separately wrapped in clean white paper before being placed in purpose-made removal cartons. To help prevent tarnishing, all silverware is wrapped in acid-free tissue paper. Wardrobe cartons are used for the transport of hanging clothing. Our experienced and trained staff are extremely competent in the specialist handling of items such as pianos, long-case clocks, antiques and works of art.

During the packing and loading process, your home will be treated with the utmost care and attention. Whenever necessary, protective covers will be used to safeguard banister rails and carpets.
