Cleaner Greener
Steele & Co and the environment
At Steele & Co we have always been conscious of the impact the services we provide have on our environment, whether that impact is from the diesel truck engines or from the materials we use to undertake a move. Having recently undertaken a review of our business we have found room for improvement and have therefore embarked on a fleet replacement programme together with a review of what materials we use for conducting a removal. We are also pleased to be able to offer clients the opportunity to reduce their removals carbon foot print by planting a tree via the Woodlands Trust.
Materials such as cardboard and paper that are used for moving have a significant impact on the environment, because of this we not only re-use but we recycle at least 99% of all materials used. We are however currently searching for a suitable viable recyclable alternative for vinyl packing tape.
Sadly there is currently no viable alternative to diesel truck engines, however technology is fast changing and due to this we have embarked on a fleet renewal process replacing all of our vehicles with cleaner greener Euro Six engines. As you can imagine trucks are not cheap things to buy, but it is our goal to replace at least one truck every year which will keep Steele & Co’s fleet as one of the cleanest of all the small independent fleets in the industry.
We have also embraced the advancement of Electric Car technology and have recently purchased our first 100 % Electric Car which is used by our representative on client visits, this decision alone has replaced the 30,000 + miles a year with zero emissions that would have been previously powered by a combustion engine. Due to the success of this all future cars purchased will be 100% electric.
We are as a company as serious about the environment as we are about your house and business removal!
